Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa | A Palm Beach Getaway

Thinking of a quick Bali-inspired beach escape away from the hustle and bustle of South Florida, Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa located in Palm Beach has plenty to offer. From the blend of its minimalistic Bali-inspired decor with a dash of South-Beach style sizzle to its ornate amenities and effortless elegance, this beach resort has everything to offer for your perfect Palm Beach relaxing getaway.

About the Property

Built in 1980, this 2.7 acres of oceanfront property was earlier known as ‘Hilton Palm Beach Ocean Resort’. It was completely renovated in 2009 and renamed “Omphoy Ocean Resort”, referred to locally as “The Omphoy”. It was the first “new” hotel to open in Palm Beach in nearly 20 years. In 2011, the resort was purchased by real estate investor, Jeff Greene. It was again renamed “Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa” and managed by Kimpton Hotels in 2014. Several management companies operated the Tideline for the past year. Dream Hotel Group was ultimately chosen to manage the hotel beginning in November 2018.

Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa | A Palm Beach GetawayI was recently hosted by Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa to experience their amenities and let me give you a virtual tour of this splendid resort!

The Entrance

Nestled in one of the cozy neighborhoods of Palm Beach, Tideline Ocean Resort’s entrance gives you the impression of stepping inside the luxury private community at its first glance. The main property is hidden from the palm trees, bushes and parking lot. So, if you don’t see the sign of the resort, you may end up thinking it is a private parking area of some residential property.

The Lobby

Stepping inside the lobby of the Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa gives you the vibe of Asian influenced aesthetics with dim lights, busts of Buddha and the calming aroma of golden bamboo. A magnificent staircase is located in the heart of the lobby leading to the restaurant and bar on the second floor. There’s also a serene water-fountain below the staircase setting a perfect zen mode for your beach vacation.

As soon as I parked my car outside the lobby, I was greeted by a valet boy with a warm smile. He took out my luggage as well as parked my car. The reception was on the right-hand side of the main entrance.  While waiting for the check-in, I could hear the loud music coming from the second floor buzzing with energy. It was a DJ Friday night and looked like a fun place to hang out and unwind for locals as well as guests.

Check-in & Welcome Amenities

I was greeted again by a lady at the reception with a beautiful smile and had a smooth check-in in less than 5 minutes. She also gave me a bottle of wine, cookies and a card with a personal hand-written welcome message from the front desk. It was a sweet welcome gesture from the resort to all its guests.

The Room

With 134 rooms, Tideline Ocean Resort offers several categories of rooms and suites to suit every type of guests: Oceanfront King Suite, Oceanfront King Room, Oceanfront Veranda King, Partial Ocean View King/Queen, Pool View King & Pool View Queen.

I had the pleasure of staying in Oceanfront Veranda King room. My first impression while entering the room was sleek, bright and quintessential! From the neutral-toned walls to the ceramic bronze-golden colored floor, from the dark wooden bed with natural fabric hung to a huge mirror behind the bed, you’ll get a vibe of being in any Bali’s resort. The room was spacious and inviting with large windows and a sliding door leading to a private veranda. The king size bed was very comfortable with pull-out mattress and pillows. I’ve to admit that I slept like a baby during my entire stay.

The room also had a lovely lounge area with a few lifestyle magazines to simply kick back and relax while soaking the view.

Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa | A Palm Beach GetawayMy room had a fully stocked mini-bar. There were two Frette Terry Bathrobes and slippers kept inside the closet. The room had all the regular modern amenities except coffee machine and microwave. However, these can be provided on request.

The Bathroom

My bathroom was spacious and gave a spa feel with a jacuzzi overlooking a glass wall facing towards the room and ocean. There was a separate vanity area on one side and a toilet area with a glass door on the other side. The eco-friendly toiletries were from Mistral — a luxury French bath & body brand in a sufficient quantity. The resort also provides the option of a room with a separate shower tub/area in case you are staying with kids or need privacy when you shower!

Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa | A Palm Beach GetawayOne of my most favorite things about the room was Chromecast. You can stream whatever you like to watch on your TV. It gave me the feeling of staying at home away from home! Moreover, the resort provides a complimentary WiFi at a great speed to all its guests. Therefore, you can connect as many devices as you want.

The View From Veranda

My room had a huge veranda facing the panoramic view of the Atlantic Ocean and swaying palm trees on the front side and garden-view on the left side. Whether watching the surreal sunrise or having in-room dining or working, I’ve to admit that I spent plenty of time in the balcony just soaking this million dollar view!

The room was just incredible for anyone who dreams of salt life. It was perfect for relaxing, recharging and immersing yourself for your beach escape.

The Breathtaking Sunrise

No stay to the Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa would be complete if you don’t get up early in the morning to watch the surreal sunrise. It is a priceless and overwhelming experience in itself!

Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa | A Palm Beach Getaway

I’ve to admit that staying on the west coast of Florida, we only get a chance to watch the magical sunsets on the beach. Therefore, I haven’t watched the sunrise on the beach in a very long time. It was absolutely breathtaking and one of the most beautiful moments of staying at Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa.

If you’re fond of walking on the beach, you’re going to love the miles and miles of extensive Atlantic Ocean’s coastline in front of the resort.

The resort has a private beach area where they provide complimentary towels, chairs and umbrellas for all their guests. You can also order food and drinks while sitting on the beach and enjoying the view. The boogie board and snorkel rentals are also included with the resort fee.

Food & Drinks

If you’re fond of dining al-fresco while gazing the breathtaking view of  Atlantic Ocean, Brandon’s located in Tideline Ocean Resort is one of the well-known dining places in Palm Beach, Florida. From its coastal cuisine to its hand-crafted cocktails to its seasonal delicacies, Brandon’s has plenty to offer for its guests.

Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa | A Palm Beach GetawayI had the pleasure of having breakfast at Brandon’s on all the days during my stay and I absolutely loved my breakfast with a view! One of my favorite dishes at Brandon’s for breakfast was Banana Foster Stuffed French Toast with caramelized bananas, Myers rum, enrobed with granola, powdered sugar and Grand Marnier crème anglaise. It tastes incredibly delicious. Some of my other favorite dishes were Elote Avocado Toast and Palm Beach Omelette!

The resort is also just a short walk from Lake Worth Beach Park. West Palm Beach and other local attractions are also in strategically close proximity to the resort. Palm Beach International Airport is around 9.2 miles. The resort doesn’t provide an airport shuttle. So, you need to either rent a car from the airport or hire a taxi or Uber/Lyft. The Verdict

From its lavish amenities to its hospitality to its excellent service, I enjoyed my stay at this beautiful resort. As a caffeine addict, I only missed a coffee machine inside the room. But who cares when your mini bar is loaded with some signature wines, beers and plenty of snacks!

Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa is perfect for your secluded Palm Beach tropical getaway. I’d highly recommend this resort for couples, friends, girlfriends getaway or a destination wedding.

Thanks a ton to the entire staff of Tideline Ocean Resort & Spa for making my stay absolutely amazing!

    1. Oh, I just remembered now. My uncle and aunt went to Florida—-they’re from LA, California—to catch a cruise a few weeks ago. They stayed in Tideline for a night or two. They said it was a really awesome resort. And the beachfront reminded them of their home country here in the Philippines; we have lots of nice beaches.
