Brooklyn Bridge | A Photo Essay

Walking across the Brooklyn Bridge — one of the iconic landmarks in New York City is the ultimate dream of any NYC visitor. It was on the top of my New York bucket lists for many years but never got an opportunity to walk across it on my several earlier trips until my last trip to the greatest city during New York Fashion Week

I planned the last day of the fashion week for my photoshoot. I woke up early in the morning and as soon as I opened the curtains of my hotel’s room, I was bummed up as it was pouring heavily. I was waiting for this day for so long to capture some splendid shots of Brooklyn Bridge. However, when the time came, I was feeling blues all around. Anyways, I decided to take my chances.

I was so glad that I didn’t give up that day. I was fortunate enough to witness the most dramatic setting of the New York skylines and Brooklyn Bridge! The best part was that there wasn’t even a single soul around when I started walking over the bridge. I felt like Brooklyn Bridge was all to myself!

Let the below pictures speak for themselves!

It was windy that day and holding an umbrella was a real struggle!

The upper floors of Freedom Tower were covered with fog and the view of the Manhattan skylines was absolutely surreal!

I just wanted to walk over the Brooklyn Bridge but God made me dance!

Brooklyn Bridge | A Photo EssayI was twirling, dancing, ecstatic, euphoric and was on the cloud nine. I was singing Pitbull’s and Mark Anthony’s song ‘Let it rain over me’ at the top of my voice that I even got stares from one of the bikers. I bet he must be thinking I was some crazy lady who had lost her mind. 😀

I still couldn’t believe that one of the most touristy spots in Big Apple always buzzing with the crowd was all to myself that day!

Brooklyn Bridge | A Photo EssayIt took me around half an hour to cross the Brooklyn Bridge and it was one of the best moments of my New York trip ever. Everything felt so magical and quite overwhelming. I felt that universe conspired me that day to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. No wonder, I’ve to admit that it was definitely a walk to remember!

When you’re traveling, most of the time things don’t go well as you’ve planned. Don’t give up and always appreciate whatever opportunity you have got. At the end of the day, what counts is how much memories you have made on your trip. I’ve always wanted to take some splendid shots with the sunny setting of the NYC skylines and Brooklyn Bridge. However, the universe had different plans for me and I’m so thankful to God for giving me the opportunity to walk across the Brooklyn Bridge with the most dramatic setting I could have ever asked for in my life!

Do share your trip experiences when things didn’t happen as you planned but then also, you made the best out of it?

Till then, Happy Wandering!
Ana

    1. The photos are beautiful! I think that if you would have gone any other sunny day, there would have been so many people there. With rain though, it looks like you had the entire bridge for yourself.

    1. Strangly enough I have never walked over the Brooklyn Bridge though I live in a suburb of NYC–I have driven over it a couple times. It is magnificent! My Mom on the other hand has walked it innumerable times. I am so glad you were able to experience one of the wonders of NYC!

    1. Eee I was JUST there! It was my second visit to NYC but my first time on the bridge. I’m already planning what I’ll do on my next visit to the city. I’m in Montreal, so we can actually drive down! Your pics are great – I’ll have to get some better ones next time!
