Glimpse of Renaissance Festival 2016

If you want to go back in time and experience 16th century European village in Florida, US, then you must visit Renaissance Festival at Tampa Bay area. This is only a weekend outdoor festival that started on 5th February 2016 and it will end on 20th March’2016. Every weekend is unique with different themes and food festivals. In this festival, you will hear the sounds of lutes playing and swords clashing and the smells of wood smoke and perfumed oils, live entertainment and shows, character artists, exotic food and wine and everything that will make you feel that you are time traveled in 16th century.

Last weekend, I went to Renaissance Festival with my friend Marianne and we had loads of fun. It was my first time and a new experience for me out there. I was fascinated by food as there was a ‘Food Fit For A King‘ menu with 100 Layer Cinnamon Roll, Turkey Leg, Chicken & Waffles, Burgers, Chicken Pot Pie, Apple Dumplings, Smoothies, Beer and Wine. My favorite was Scotch Eggs as it was a real delight for my taste buds!

In Renaissance festival, you will meet number of characters who will look at their best to make you believe, oh boy! Are they real? It is fun to watch them. If you want to dress up like any character, you can buy costumes from there or you can even rent costume from Fiona’s Costume Rental. Not only this, there are stalls for hair braiding such as Fantasy Hair Weaving and Ladies in Braiding from where you can get your desired hair style.

If you love face and body art, then you are going to love Renaissance Festival as there are many shops to give you your perfect desired look.

Glimpse of Renaissance Festival 2016 Last weekend was amazing as there was a Belle dance competition. There were extremely talented Belle dancers from all around US who showed their talents. Few of the performers were outstanding and will leave you spellbound by their performances. You could wish to shake your belly like them!

I also liked the show ‘Christophe the Insultor’ in which you have to tip Christople and give him name of anyone whom you want to get insulted. Then Christophe once starts insulting the victim, he can give the biggest nightmare of his/her life. However it was hilarious for the audience.

I had an amazing time at Renaissance Festival exploring enchanted realm of warriors amongst gourmet treats and unforgettable entertainment. If you are in Florida and wants to experience something different than the usual theme parks, Renaissance Festival won’t disappoint you.

Do let me know your experiences if you have been to the Renaissance Festival or attended any similar events in the comments below?

Enjoy,
Ana

    1. Oh my goodness – this looks like such a fun festival! We have one similar to this in the St. Louis area where I live and I haven’t been in years. This makes me want to add it to my list of things to do this summer.
